Time management is a critical part of any successful event. Unfortunately, it can become one of the most stressful parts as well. In fact, that is one of the main reasons hiring an event planner is such a great decision!
There are a few steps you can take to reduce the burden of time management and increase your high vibes for your event right from the beginning. Let’s talk about those and get you on track for your amazing event.
Time Management Makes the Most of Free Resources
You’ll be surprised at the number of free resources you can use to help you with time management techniques. Incorporating a couple of these into your plan will pay off in big results and less stress.
Having one space where everyone involved in planning the event can communicate is the perfect way to start. Using a platform like Trello or Asana is perfect.
These two communication platforms allow you to add the members of your team to your project as well as assign various tasks to each player. The best part is, you can use both of them free. Trello allows you to make lists galore and then give each task its own card, assigned to a team member. Everything is visible all at once and also quickly broken down into individual items. Organization in a snap. It is a powerful tool that knocks your event planning down into bite-sized pieces.
You can add as many team members as you want and then just slide them around to the various tasks. Load files, assign due dates – BOOM. You’re on it!
If you thrive on structure, Asana might be your best choice. You can use a Today, Upcoming and Later theme to help you organize things. Asana is also the go-to for recurring tasks within your event. If you have a weekly meeting, a daily email or another repeating task, this is a great tool to use to keep you on task. Time management is a superpower for some people and kryptonite to others. If you don’t thrive under timelines, deadlines, alarms and schedules, talk to an expert for help.
